WORK EXPERIENCE |
[January 2008 - Present] Responsible for the design, development and management of multimedia features, front-end web development and enhancement, interface design, management of Blog and Media servers, production and delivery of online video content and providing support and guidance to other departments of the organization as needed.
[April 2006 - January 2008] Responsible for all design and development of custom multimedia applications, multimedia educational materials and bespoke web sites for internal clients and partners. Projects have included web-based e-commerce applications, educational/exhibition web sites, FLASH games, audio/video recording and preparation of media for online delivery (podcasts/streaming video etc). Develop, conduct and analyse information architecture, in-house usability tests to asses and refine work. Follow UCD methodology and best practices for web development.
[November 1999 - March 2006] Provide creative direction and leadership for development efforts for interactive unit of web consultancy group. been a flexible position where my range of skills has been constantly
challenged and enhanced as the Internet has evolved and matured.
Projects typically involved working in small, cross-functional teams
of creative and technical professionals. [February 1999 - November 1999] Established Fountain, a Web design and consulting firm. Client base included UK universities, local businesses, and international
[October 1995 - June 1999] The University of Edinburgh is one of the pioneers of computer-based learning among UK universities. Primary role was to develop Web-based educational products and multimedia training materials to supplement teaching. Developed “virtual visit” case studies providing an insight to how unique obstacles were overcome at a range of diverse businesses. Produced all visual and interface design for the products, and photography, video filming, digitizing, editing and preparation of media for electronic delivery. Worked with a content developer and member of academic staff to generate the educational content. In addition, I was a design and Web production resource to the University in general. Worked closely with the University Visual
[October 1994 - September 1995] Short-term contract position to facilitate the modernization of company's computer system. Worked with a small team of
[February 1993 - October 1994] Instrumental in establishing a new computer facility at Image Animation. Responsibilities included sourcing and purchasing computer hardware, building computer network and interfacing with film hardware. Once the facility was operational, I worked with a team of animators, programmers and digital artists producing effects and animation sequences for television and film.
[August 1992 - February 1993] Following the completion of my degree I worked on a fixed-term
underwater acoustics research project for the British military. |
