Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge
Science Magazine
Design, Flash Development
This multimedia slideshow presents the winning entries of 2008s visualization challenge.
I was a preliminary judge for the competition and also designed and build the online presentation of the winners. I used a third-party product for the slideshow and was able to comeplete the project effectively in a short amount of time.
Plant Genome Multimedia Feature
Science Magazine
Concept, Design, Flash Development, Project Lead
This multimedia feature was created to accompany a special print issue of the magazine.
I was project lead for the development, and also responsible for the design, user interface and all Flash work. Using Actionscript I developed a flexible, reusable XML-powered presentation engine and worked closely with other departments to facilitate the text, video content, animation, transcriptions and other elements.
Health Descisions Promo Movie and CD-ROM
Americas Health Insurance Plans
Concept, Design and Development
We recently completed a web site for this client (although I did not design it). My task here was to develop a short, free-running movie to promote the site and it's main features.
I wrote the script, developed the storyboard and completed all development work for the web and CD versions of the movie and created the pre-master CD-ROM.
This movie was designed to be run from a CD-ROM, please download it, unzip it and then run the executable.
Annual Quiz - Virtual Brochure
Campaign for the Prevention of Teen Pregnancy
Concept, Design and Development
This is one of my long standing clients. For the past few years I have helped 'teen' manage and develop their web site and provide training for their staff.
Each year, they run a large campaign where they work with schools and youth organizations and get kids to take an online quiz to help them deal with sex issues and prepare themselves for situations they may find themsleves in.
This piece was created to replace a brochure which they previously produced in-house promoting the event and trying to generate new interest and sponsorship.
This movie was designed to be run from a CD-ROM, please download it, unzip it and then run the executable.
Poetry Splatter
Reading is Fundamental
Concept, Design and Development
In this game, children pick a theme for their poem, splat words on to a palette
and then drag them to fill in the gaps and make their own masterpiece.
It is a fun way to learn the difference between nouns, verbs, and
adverbs/adjectives.
The content is fully adminstratable via a Web-based interface on
the client's web site.
Drug Monitoring Device - Demo
Sequella
Concept, Design and Development
This is a short interactive piece demonstrating the technology behind one of the their current research projects. It is a simple but very effective use of flash. Demonstrating that a basic degree of interactivity can greatly help the viewer understand something.
